Zahedi expands on the background of “DANCING!”: “This track has been my roommate for the last few months, so to speak. I didn’t intend those chorus lyrics to stay but as the lockdown dragged on they became the perfect release for the timely waves of isolation and separation that permeate the verses. The simplest things can provide such a massive release, I can only imagine what it would feel like to go out with someone who made you excited and dance, have a good time, blow off steam. What was once a careless Friday night is now a forbidden fantasy.”
The new-wave space-glam romp was mixed by Shane Stoneback (Vampire Weekend, Rostam, Cults, Bleached, CRX).
In addition to playing with CRX, Zahedi has co-fronted The Reflections and more recently People On People with longtime collaborator Jonathan Safley (also of CRX), and his project Cadeaux with Briana Lane (Winslow) will release a debut EP this fall.
