ERIC KRASNO PLUS ONE WITH DON WAS
“You want to live more by instinct, to not be so gripped by fear. You just have to open up and let whatever pours out of you pour out of you.”
– Don Was
Don Was joins award-winning guitarist/producer Eric Krasno on his special new podcast series. Presented by Osiris Media, ERIC KRASNO PLUS ONE sees the renowned musician hosting a one-of-a-kind interview series exploring the lives and work of some of his closest friends and musical collaborators.
In this episode, Krasno talks with Grammy-winning producer turned record executive Don Was. After decades of recording with Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones and others, Was accepted his first “real job” when he succeeded the legendary Bruce Lundvall as President of Blue Note Records.
Was and Krasno discuss how they balance analog and digital methods when recording with younger artists, the influence of Detroit’s jazz and motown scene on Was as a kid, the spiritual experience of performing Grateful Dead songs with the original members (which Was does as part of Bob Weir’s The Wolf Brothers), and a lot more.
Upcoming episodes of Plus One include Phil Lesh, Allen Stone, Nigel Hall, and more.
