WATCH: Premiering Exclusively via Loudwire
Seattle-based rockers AVOID are paying tribute to one of their favorite bands and biggest influences; hometown heroes Foo Fighters. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the grunge outfit’s self-titled debut (released July 4th 1995) the rising newcomers have covered the track “Weenie Beenie” from the record. Today, the band premiered the track and accompanying music video, filmed in each member’s homes during quarantine, exclusively via Loudwire. Fans can check out the premiere via the link found here.
Speaking with Loudwire about the “Weenie” cover, AVOID frontman Benny Scholl shares,
“This has been one of our favorite songs for as long as we can remember. The Foo’s have been a big part of our musical journey. Some of the first songs our guitarist Nick and I ever jammed together were Foo Fighters songs. There aren’t very many bands with a discography as diverse as theirs, and they continue to inspire us every day.”
About AVOID
Exploding out of Seattle, WA, hotly-tipped hard rock five-piece AVOID have been rapidly making a name for themselves thanks to their electrifying live show and an unabashed experimental approach to music. Forming in 2017, AVOID’s debut full length ‘Alone’ (Revival Recordings) was released in 2018, garnering more than 1.5 million streams to date and strong Spotify playlisting support. The record debuted at #3 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Pacific Chart.
