Watch the latest episode of “THE COLLECTION” as host Mark Agnesi heads to downtown Nashville, TN for a glimpse into the epic and rare guitar collection of Joe Bonamassa. Dubbed “Nerdville East,” the home is not only a sanctuary to guitars and amplifiers, but also countless pieces of collectibles and music memorabilia. Mark and Joe sit down to discuss the creation of the house, being a collector and how he chooses guitars for the “Nerdville East” collection, as well as, the stories behind some of the incredible, one-of-a-kind guitars that live there.
Joe takes Mark through his home and studio guitar and gear collections, which include: 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard “Lazarus,” 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard “Johnny B,” 1960 Gibson Les Paul Standard “Ragin’ Cajun,” 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard “Lorelei,” 1963 Gibson EB-6, 1972 Gibson ES-355TDC, 1953 Gibson J-200 “Walter,” 1961 Gibson ES-335TDC, 1963 Gibson ES-335TDC, 1952 Fender Telecaster “Terry Reid,” 1977 Zemaitis Solidbody, 1969 Grammer Johnny Cash Model, 1952 Fender Telecaster, 1955 Fender Stratocaster Hardtail, 1966 Fender Precision Bass Slab Body, 1963 Gibson SG Special and a 1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty.
“Joe’s commitment to preserving the history of these instruments and sharing their stories is a testament to his love for everything about the guitar,” says Mark Agnesi, Director of Brand Experience at Gibson. “His passion is contagious, and he is an amazing ambassador for the instrument.”
During the show, Joe gives Mark a “First Look” at his brand-new signature guitar the Joe Bonamassa Epiphone Les Paul Custom “Black Beauty,” which will be available worldwide starting October 8.
“We based my new Epiphone signature on this 1958 Gibson Les Paul Custom,” explains Joe Bonamassa. “I made it a super playable instrument, throaty but clean, and the lead pick up just barks. I fell in love with it, it’s a great Black Beauty and you just play this thing into the ground. Epiphone did an excellent job re-creating this guitar and I’m excited to share it with everyone.”
