(July 17, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA) – Today, rising alt-pop duo Bahari release a special remix of their 100 million stream-generating viral hit “Savage” featuring rapper BIA. Get it via Epic Records/Heroine Music Group. The Los Angeles-based duo—comprised of Ruby Carr [vocals, keyboards] and Natalia Panzarella [vocals, bass]—will unveil more new music very soon.
The original “Savage” catalyzed the duo’s rise and has been certified Gold by the RIAA. Now, the remix incorporates nimble rhymes from BIA amidst airy flutes, cinematic strings, and a hard-hitting hook. Additionally, they turn up in a sexy and slick accompanying music video. Intercutting intimate and dark vignettes, Ruby and Natalia quite literally play with fire, torch a rose, and run amok under hues of pink, purple, and blue. BIA joins them with a wild cameo of her own. Watch it HERE.
About this new take, the duo commented, “We decided to write a song that emboldened and empowered us as two young women who had recently gone through difficult relationships. A lot of what we write is very vulnerable, so we flipped it around and said, ‘We feel good about ourselves.’ We needed a strong female artist for the remix, and BIA was a perfect fit.”
On this Saturday, July 18 at 5pm PT, Bahari join the powerhouse bill of a virtual concert event to celebrate the vinyl release of To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You Original Soundtrack. It is set to air on the AwesomenessTV YouTube channel, and they will perform their acclaimed track “Crashing.” Tune in HERE.
As the girls put their finishing touches on more music set to arrive later this summer, get “Savage” with Bahari now.
Bahari is exclusively managed worldwide by William Derella.
Every so often, two separate journeys collide to form the perfect union in just the right place at just the right time. Bahari blossom from a similar confluence of circumstances. Singer and keyboardist Ruby Carr hails from the tiny island of Lamu off the coast of Kenya, while singer and bassist Natalia Panzarella was born in Nashville but grew up in Southern California. Each of their experiences shapes a dynamic, diverse, and dark take on alternative pop. Generating over 650 million streams and receiving acclaim from Ladygunn, Nylon, Billboard, Ones To Watch, and more, the Los Angeles-based duo bring a shared vision to life.
After meeting at a songwriting session at 16-years-old, the girls formed a lifelong bond. Shortly after, Bahari initially made waves with “Wild Ones,” which generated 38.1 million Spotify streams. They maintained a consistent pace with the Dancing on the Sun EP and singles “Get Together” and “Fucked Up.” Along the way, they supported Selena Gomez and Birdy on tour and teamed up with Zedd, ILLENIUM and Grey for collaborations. After quietly grinding, Bahari earned a viral hit with 2018’s “Savage.” Not only did the song generate over 100 million total streams, but it also went gold. Signing to Epic Records, the pair reup “Savage” with an Official Remix featuring rapper BIA, heralding their 2020 full-length debut and much more to come.
