New Album, Grim, Out July 17, 2020 | Pre-Order NOW
“Illuminate me, illuminate me
So that I can see
In the darkness
Without guidance!”
The wait is almost over! Cinematic metal icons DARK SARAH will release their new epos Grim in about two weeks on July 17, 2020 via Napalm Records. To lift some of the suspense, they have just released a third stunning single, “Illuminate”, along with a perfectly fitting music video, drawing the listener even deeper into their fairytale-like storyline of magical orbs and otherworldly magic.
Bursting with the tremendous energy of their music, DARK SARAH’s cinematic metal hymn, “Illuminate”, quickly expands into a mighty summoning, enfolding its pure power in the spellbinding chorus that will send shivers down the listener’s spine.
Heidi Parviainen states:
””Illuminate” is the name of the second ’orb’ that the protagonist Luna finds. It is a magical purple orb to summon the powers of wind and the moon. Luna asks the moon to illuminate her and to revive her magic powers to fight against the darkness upon the city of Grim.”
Cinematic metal icons DARK SARAH start an astonishing new fairytale-like storyline with their fourth studio album, Grim. The beguiling new dimension, coalescing between crystal-clear vocals and propulsive hardness, draws you into the tempestuous maelstrom of their horror fantasy theme. Introducing the new protagonist, Luna, the band invites you to their mythical world of orbs, ravens, rabbit-headed people and Mörk, that’ll wrap you up in a surreal dreamscape.
The overwhelming intensity of DARK SARAH’s masterfully told cinematic metal saga sends shivers down your spine and takes possession of heart and soul, while leaving you with pure emotions. Grim flourishes with its full magnitude, unfolding its potential with every second.
Heidi Parviainen on Grim:
“Our new album called Grim is a concept album like its predecessors, but Grim will start a new story line with a modern horror fantasy theme. Musically, Grim introduces a more modern sound and a taste of what’s to come in the future – with a “DARK SARAH twist”, of course. We´re very happy about this album and it has been really fun to make. Also creating the new visual brand and the Grim world has been an adventure already!”

Australian grind legion KING PARROT is back with a blistering four-track EP of their signature brand of uncompromising thrashy, punked out grindcore chaos. Entitled Holed Up In The Lair, the EP was recorded during some time off between tours, and the intention was simple: “four days, four tracks, write em’, record em’, and be done with it.” This was the result. With engineer Steve “Big Fella” Berrigan at the helm, Holed Up In The Lair came to life at Nodferatu’s Lair in Louisiana in late 2017. After recently remixing and mastering the tracks, and with the world in such turmoil, the band decided to unleash it as a special seven-inch limited to 1000 copies worldwide. This rare and raw balls-to-the-wall recording not only gives fans some new KING PARROT tunes, but it also offers a glimpse of what they can do, so seemingly effortlessly at the drop of a hat. KING PARROT gets thrown into a studio randomly with no songs written on some days off while touring and we end up with some golden nuggets. It really is a great insight into how quickly these guys can pull together some killer tunes and a great example of what a super tight band can do. This is what you get from years of touring, tons of shows, and countless hours of writing together. Comments KING PARROT vocalist Matt Young, “Usually, KING PARROT always tries to write music together in the same room, but that just hasn’t been possible for us because of the lock-down. We were planning on re-working these tracks for a new album eventually, but when all the restrictions came about, we thought, ‘Why not get these tracks out there as a special limited-edition seven-inch release?’ We think KING PARROT fans will be happy with these tracks. It’s rude, loud, fast and grimey and we poured our heart and soul into them; there’s no doubting its unabashedly KING PARROT!” In advance of the EP’s release, today the band unleashes opening track, “Banished, Flawed Then Docile,” now streaming at THIS LOCATION. KING PARROT – Banished, Flawed then Docile (Audio) KING PARROT’s Holed Up In The Lair EP will see release on October 9th via Housecore Records in North America, Agonia Records in Europe/UK, and Dead Set Records in Australasia/Asia.
