AUGUST 31, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – Blame Candy, the indie power pop-rock quartet that’s been savagely disrupting LA’s music scene, have released their latest single “Playtime!” today. The new track seamlessly takes you back to the height of quirky 90’s alt rock and power pop, while retaining a modern self-produced flare full of non-stop ear candy and artistic musical flourishes.
The play doesn’t stop with the audio for this new single as the accompanying music video features cameo appearances from friends of the band including Dorian Electra, Yungblud, Pussy Riot, Palaye Royale, Slayyyter, Phony Ppl, Blu DeTiger, Kelsy Karter, The Struts, Kitten, Bonavega, Lucia & The Best Boys, Cassyette, Jack Saunders (BBC1), Jasmine Star and Brasko, as well as an opinionated intro skit from their “manager” Max Rowntree, played by Matt Bennett (Nickelodeon’s “Victorious”).
Fans can watch the music video for “Playtime!” and stream the new single at http://hyperurl.co/ItsPlaytime.

On the single, vocalist/guitarist Aaron Deming shares, “It’s daring and fierce, bold and non-heinous! The lyrics are a first rate example of what happens when you speak before thinking – total chaos, absolute nonsense – like a child in a sandbox. But with chaos comes creativity, and with creativity comes responsibility – act accordingly.”

Lead guitarist/producer Chris Greatti adds, “This song is literally everything opposite of the way 2020’s felt. We wrote it over a year ago before our LA lives got hectic (producing, touring, etc.) but one unexpected international shutdown + one nitro cold brew-fueled conversation in March gave us the *bright* idea to revive the track (a HIT) & get all our quarantined/bored friends to join us for a few minutes of pandemic-safe serotonin release. SO HERE WE ARE (still locked down), [but now] it’s playtime!”
Fans can also join the Playtime! by inviting a hologram of Greatti into their social media posts using technology from Jaducreated by augmented reality (AR) artist, director, and technologist Asad J. Malik.
Whether they’re dazzling concert-goers with lightning-speed instrumental virtuosity, gyrating in flawless synchronicity, or subverting social norms with gender-bending sartorial irreverence, Blame Candy leaves a thought-provoking trail of harmonious destruction wherever they roam.
The members of Blame Candy also believe in keeping their lives as fast-paced as their music with leader Greatti producing and writing with artists like Poppy, Grimes, Yungblud, Halsey, Blink-182, Pussy Riot and Palaye Royale, bassist Ryan Wheeler recently toured with David Lee Roth while Deming and drummer Sam Palombo have toured as members of Poppy and Yves Tumor’s touring bands.
Citing classic influences like Blur, Jane’s Addiction, Jellyfish and Queen, as well as more modern kinfolk Fountains of Wayne, Tame Impala and Greatti’s “main obsession,” Lady Gaga, Blame Candy’s entity is undoubtedly eccentric and eclectic, and its live show is a must-see hard rock phenomenon unlike any before.
Blame Candy is Chris Greatti (Vocals and Lead Guitar), Aaron Deming (Vocals and Guitar), Ryan Wheeler (Bass and Vocals) and Sam Palombo (Drums and Percussion).
