Beach Fossils Album Release Show on June 1 with SABA and Nyck @ Knight; June 7th Show with The Drums and Princess Nokia

Cypress, CALIF. (May 22, 2017) – Vans, and long-time partner FYF, recently announced the return of Vans House Parties to House of Vans Brooklyn and the newly opened House of Vans Chicago. The series kicked off last Thursday with performances from Digable Planets and Joey Purp. Today, RSVP is open at 12pm EST for the House of Vans BrooklynJune 1st and June 7th shows.

The June 1st show will celebrate the long-awaited record release from Brooklyn’s Beach Fossils. The group’s first release since 2013, Somersault (out June 2nd) draws on the band’s experiences in NYC to create an honest, engaging set of songs with universal appeal. Instead of a still portrait of an idealized metropolis, the new release plays like an engaging, electrified motion picture, animated by new musical influences and vibrant observations of life in the city today. Listen to two new tracks from the album – “Tangerine” and “Social Jetlag.” The lineup also includes Chicago rapper SABA, who previously played this year at House of Vans in Austin during SXSW on the heels of his Bucket List Project release, and Kirk Knight and Nyck Caution’s collaboration project Nyck @ Knight – RSVP HERE.

The June 7th show will be a hometown album release celebration for NYC’s The Drums, with hip hop artist Princess Nokia opening. The Drums’ highly anticipated new record “Abysmal Thoughts” will be released on June 16th via Anti- and is being lauded as a true return to form for frontman Jonny Pierce. Born out of heartbreak, “Abysmal Thoughts” is an unflinching autobiography with Pierce back in full control of the band. His masterful pop sensibility shines through on this quintessential Drums album, and it’s some of the most revelatory work he’s ever done. Princess Nokia is touring in support of her new album1992 and just completed a sold out world tour – RSVP HERE.

Always free and open to the public, Vans House Parties presented by FYF has become the most highly anticipated summer concert series to hit House of Vans Brooklyn and now, Chicago. Don’t miss your chance to attend! Stay tuned for RSVP details for the entire Vans House Parties series at www.houseofvans.com.

Each House of Vans location will transform into an immersive, one-of-a-kind art experience created by Los Angeles-based visual artist, Nathan Bell. Bell’s work is an experiment in language, typography and aesthetic. Comprised of custom patterns, textures, drawings and wordplay, Bell riffs off of his recently acclaimed solo show at Subliminal Projects to create a black and white visceral “Off The Wall” experience.
