March 19, 2018 — Michigan rock titans POP EVIL’s single “Waking Lions” has landed at #1 this week on the Mediabase Active Rock airplay chart. The song had enjoyed a string of weeks in the #2 position until now. “Waking Lions” reached #1 after 20 weeks on the chart.

This is the band’s fifth #1 single with the previous four being “Footsteps,” (2015) “Torn to Pieces,” (2014) “Deal With the Devil,” (2013) and “Trenches,” (2013).

“We are humbled to find out that “Waking Lions” has gone to #1,” says vocalist and frontman Leigh Kakaty. “It will never get old to see your band name on the top of the radio charts. This song was written as a mission statement to never let fear lead the way. We continue to see how our music helps make a positive impact in our fan’s lives, which really is what it’s all about. Thank you to everyone involved in helping make this #1 happen!”

“Waking Lions” has enjoyed continued success for POP EVIL. The song has amassed nearly 10 million streams to date.
