MUSIC HAPPENS HERE: NEW ORLEANS LAUNCHES ON SPOTIFY IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HILTON HONORS AND LIVE NATION
Music Happens Here: New Orleans
Lil Wayne is among those now carrying the torch for the same city that once gave us Louis Armstrong. The musical melange of sounds in the Big Easy attracts musicians from far and wide: Dave Matthews, Solange, Aloe Blacc, Trombone Shorty. Some were born on the Bayou. Some simply came here to record, others to live. Katrina has long passed. And New Orleans is rising once again.
Music Happens Here is an original travel series from Spotify, in partnership with Hilton Honors and Live Nation, that looks into the most iconic places where music has been created, performed and celebrated. This latest episode features the history of music in NOLA and behind-the-scenes artist and venue stories.
These stories (and more) are joined by a conversation with Aloe Blacc, during which he previews his rendition of Louis Armstrong’s “What A Wonderful World”, created during his recent visit to New Orleans where he played an exclusive concert for Hilton Honors members, who gained access to this money-can’t-buy experience at the House of Blues through the Hilton Honors Auction Platform.
