April 20th, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA – California-based singer-songwriter Kylie Hughes has released the video for her brand new single “Heat” today via The Huffington Post. Fans can exclusively stream the video here: goo.gl/pXG1Dt. The Huffington Post remarked that, “If anyone is spinning their wheels wondering, ‘Who is Hughes?’ this song and video should get their motor running.” “Heat” marks the first track from Kylie’s forthcoming self-titled album, slated for release on May 26th. Inspired by cult classic Talladega Nights, Kylie Hughes took to California’s Irwindale Speedway for “Heat.” She remarked, “Talladega Nights is one of my favorite movies and I felt like it could be a great vehicle to tie in the racy feel of the song, while showing my less serious side.” Directed by Frank Borin (Bon Jovi, 5 Seconds of Summer, Becky G) the video for “Heat” does not hold back, and neither does Kylie Hughes. Borin praised the songstress saying, “Kylie brought it. And there are very few artists who can bring it to the table like she did. Literally, KFC chicken make out and all.” The original track, produced by Mark McKee, premiered on Myspace earlier this year.
The full self-titled album, out May 26th, conveys a much stronger Kylie Hughes – one rooted in knowing exactly what she wants as an artist, working with top-notch producers like Ben Jaffe, Mike Shimshack and Brandon Friesen. The 12-track project takes listeners through a myriad of emotions, from the darker ballad “Always On Your Side” to the ironic, dreamy mid-tempo “Hungover” – This is Kylie Hughes like you’ve never heard before. Kylie remarked that, “This is my new beginning and it’s about damn time.”  On the forthcoming album, Myspace lauded Kylie saying, “While few musicians are open to accepting change, Kylie Hughes eagerly welcomes it, pushing herself beyond her comfort zone and reaching heights of musical ingenuity she never thought possible, preventing this California girl from drowning in the sea of here-for-today pop sensations.”
Starting at the age of 12, Kylie has always been writing and recording music. Her debut EP, 2014’s Calipopicana, earned her fans and critics, landing features in Examiner, Good Day LAK-CAL TV 9, InStyle.com, Music Connection and more. Kylie’s contagious, spontaneous energy has led to performances alongside the likes of The Beach Boys, John Mayer, Jewel and Michael W. Smith – Just to name a few – as well as performance opportunities like her most recent run at SXSW 2017. Unwritten remarked that, “Kylie isn’t afraid to sound different from her fellow female artistsShe stands out from the crowd – which is a necessity in today’s world of music.”
“Heat” is the first single from Kylie Hughes’ forthcoming self-titled album, slated for release on May 26th. For more information about Kylie Hughes, please visit: www.kyliehughesmusic.com/
