To celebrate the album’s release, Wilson will be hosting a pair of listening parties and Q&A sessions via Instagram Live@wilsonparties. Join singer Chad Nicefield at 3:00 PM ET and guitarist Jason Spencer at 8:00 PM ET today (January 29) to get a taste of Thank You, Goodnight. Live!

There is no saying goodbye to that which is eternal – and so Thank You, Goodnight. Live! stands not as the band’s farewell, but as an enduring monument to Wilson’s promise of “Fuckery Forever.” Thank You, Goodnight. Live! captures the band’s sold-out final performance in all its glory and gives a taste to all those fans who could not attend. The energy, the attitude, the fuckery, and even the heartbreak are all visceral in this 10-song collection which features songs from 2015’s Right To Rise and 2018’s Tasty Nasty.

In a recent conversation with Wilson’s founding guitarist Jason Spencer for the syndicated Chop Shop Radio, host Steve Black explains the album’s allure: “Most live albums that I’ve encountered throughout my life, it’s either a fantastic performance that was just magical, and so you had to release it regardless of the sound. And others were just so well recorded, everything sounded so great, that you had to release it because it sounded so great. It’s so rare to capture live and have it sound great. But you guys got both. It was really a special, magical night…”

Last week, Metal Injection premiered the video for Wilson’s “super energetic performance” of the album’s first single, “Dumptruck (Live).” Celebratory in its reminiscence, the “Dumptruck (Live)” video is a montage of footage from Wilson’s last show, previously unreleased lifestyle footage shot by the band and crew over the years, fan footage, in-studio footage from the Right To Rise and Tasty Nasty sessions, and cuts from other shows throughout the years. While it is bittersweet that the band chose to end their decade long run as Wilson (for now, anyway), it is exciting and completely appropriate that they would gift their fans with one last full blast of their signature “fuckery sound,” defining their legacy and cementing their place in the annals of Detroit Rock City history with Thank You, Goodnight. Live!
